CONMEBOL picked Barranquilla to host the final on Saturday, November 21, 2026 — a single match at a neutral venue. It's the biggest sporting event the city has hosted in years, landing right as the renovation wraps up. If you're traveling for it: book lodging early (the city fills up like it does for Carnaval) and arrive a day ahead — the atmosphere starts on Friday.
Getting to the stadium
- Transmetro: the Murillo trunk line links downtown with the south. Cheapest option and it skips the match-day gridlock.
- Taxi or ride app: 20–30 minutes from the northern neighborhoods (El Prado, Riomar) outside rush hour. On match day, double it and ask to be dropped a few blocks away — road closures around the ground are extensive.
- Driving: informal parking lots operate nearby; arrive two hours early for a close spot.
- From Ernesto Cortissoz airport: both are in the south — roughly 20 minutes without traffic.
What to eat before and after
