About this place
A mud volcano roughly 50–66 feet (15–20 m) tall next to the Ciénaga del Totumo. Its therapeutic mud is rich in minerals (silica, aluminum, magnesium). Visitors climb a wooden staircase and soak in the crater; afterward, a rinse in the wetland. Access via Route 90A. Note: it's administratively located in Bolívar, but it's a regular day trip from Barranquilla.
