The Monumento Homenaje a Shakira stands in the Nativo sector of the Gran Malecón del Río, near the Barranquilla letters. It's a 6.5-meter bronze sculpture by artist Yino Márquez, unveiled in December 2023, showing the singer dancing with a skirt whose hem turns into waves of the Magdalena River and the Caribbean Sea. It's one of the most photographed spots in the city: go early in the morning or late in the afternoon, when the light is better and the sun is gentler.
